We take great honour and delighted to announce the appointment of YBhg Dato’ Eisah Abdul Rahman as Chairman of Board of Biocare Manufacturing Sdn Bhd effective January 2017. Please join me to welcome our Chairman and we wish her every success to help shape the future of Biocare in the pharmaceutical industry.
As we have embarked into our first of its kind MDI facility, and with the aggressive progress which is taking place in our organization, it is certainly a great fortune and inspiration to welcome a highly experienced professional with vast knowledge and leadership qualities to be part of our Board of Directors as we move into next stage of growth.
Dato’ Eisah was previously Senior Director of Pharmaceutical Services in Malaysian Ministry of Health (MOH). Dato Eisah has been with MOH for the past 35 years and had held various key positions throughout her years of services, being the Head of Pharmaceutical Microbiology Lab, Head of GMP and Licensing Section, Deputy Director of Centre for Product Registration and eventually the Director of NPCB (now known as NPRA). She retired MOH as the Senior Director of the Pharmaceutical Services Division.
Dato’ Eisah holds a Bachelor Degree in Pharmacy from Curtin University of Technology, Western Australia and has Diploma (Postgraduates) in Medical Microbiology, Institute for Medical Research, Kuala Lumpur (1983) and Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Analysis, University of Manchester, United Kingdom (1986).
During her services with MOH, Dato’ Eisah had made significant contributions to the pharmacy service and sector, involvingthe setting up of various national high level committees such as the Ministry of Health’s Steering Committee for National Medicines Policy. Internationally, she had held advisory roles in the area of regulations and pharmaceutical quality assurance. Dato Eisah had actively participated in the ASEAN harmonisation initiatives for pharmaceuticals (medical devices, cosmetics, traditional medicines and health supplements). Dato Eisah had also chaired the ASEAN Consultative Committee for Standards and Quality (ACCSQ) Pharmaceutical Product Working Group, which was instrumental to the implementation of the ASEAN Common Technical Dossier and the ASEAN Technical Guidelines.
She led NPCB to be the 26th Member of the Pharmaceutical Inspection Co-operation Scheme (PIC/S) in 2002. Under her leadership, NPCB was designated a Non-OECD Member Adhering to the OECD Mutual Acceptance Data (OECD-MAD) System. To add on, under her helm, the Pharmaceutical Services Division received the Global Anti-Counterfeiting Award 2013 and the Special Innovation Award 2013 for initiatives in combatting counterfeit medicines.
We are confident with her invaluable experience and knowledge in the pharmaceutical industry, she will lead and guide us through the use of a best practice framework.
